Fall Baby Shower

My daughter Jennifer is having her third child, Emerson Rhys, in January. Her sister Megan and I are preparing a Baby Shower for her.  It is going to be a gift card shower.  She has a lot of baby things, but this little guy is arriving in the winter and the other two were Summer babies.  She wanted a Fall Theme so here are a few things we have been working on.  Can't wait to put it all together.  I will post pictures of the actual shower once we have it.

Rustic Wood Fall Baby Boy Shower Invitation Pumpkin B is for Boy Printable Custom Invite on Etsy, $18.00 This is the invitation we made using Stampin' Up! products. Jennifer really liked one she found on  Etsy (the printable is the one on the left), but I knew I could hand stamp my own and make it similar to the one she liked.  So this is my version. I used Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock, and ink, Pumpkin Pie ink, Hardwood background stamp, Larger Than Life Alphabet and Numbers stamp set for the "b", and the little pumpkin is from the stamp set Holiday Home.  I also used our Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango Bakers Twine.  I hand cut the little banners from our Motley Monsters and Brights Color Collection Designer Series Papers.
This is a big wooden letter that we covered with fall leaves

I gathered pine cones on our camping trip lat month and made this garland.  I screwed  small eye rings to the tops of the pine cones and threaded jute string through them, then tied on fall fabric strips.  My floor looks dirty but the pine cones wee shedding their seeds!

This was fun!  I went out to my storage area and found these old mason jars.  Painted them with acrylic glass paint in fall colors, then distressed them.  These are all over Pinterest.  Love Pinterest!! Aren't they cute?

So this i it for now.  Still have some projects in mind to do.  Will share those later!

I'm Back and Once A Week Cooking

I knew it had been awhile since I posted anything, but AUGUST 28th!  I was trying so hard to keep up to date and stay consistent. Well, so much for that!

I am back and I am going to try a little something different.  This has been my Stampin' Up! blog with a little family thrown in, but I am going to expand and blog about other things as well.  I have so many interests and so many things to share that I thought I would share a variety of odds and ends.  I hope this won't be confusing or turn people away, but we will see how it goes!

Join me as I start this somewhat new journey into blogging. It is hard to do wonderful things when you use a free blog service, but I will do the best I can. This blog is pretty bare bones, but then I am not very good with the computer so I guess for now, that is OK.

So I would like to show you what I did last weekend.  We have embarked on a healthier lifestyle, more about that in a minute.  I decided to make our lunches and breakfasts for the week so we could grab and go and they would be healthy.  No trying to figure it out as we go! I made 4 each leaving one day for something different.

I do have to get better at remembering to take pictures as I go, but this is the end result:
I marinated chicken, then grilled it and roasted a variety of veggies.  Each container has 1/2 cup of rice, chicken and 3 vegetables.

I put out initial on the container so we would know which ones belonged to who. (Tim doesn't like cauliflower)

I also made Healthy breakfast sandwiches. Wholegrain English muffins, egg, chicken or turkey sausage and the thin slice cheese.  So this is Friday and it has been working great!  Made the week easy!

So the healthy life style...

We are doing this as a family.

My beautiful daughter Megan came up with this idea.

We have a chart we add points to each week.

5 servings or more of fruit and vegetables per day, 64 oz of water per day, no eating after 9:00pm,30 minutes of  exercise 5x per week, Staying on track with calorie count or WW points daily, limit sweets to 3 times a week, weight/inches lost at end of week.

At the end of the month the one with the most points wins.

We are picking our own prize. We decided to make it a gift of time or labor not monetary. Example: house cleaning, baby sitting, freezer meals, help painting a room, etc.

I will keep you posted as to how it is going.

Sharing a Little Nature

So this morning I went outside and saw this little bunny in my yard.  I know it is just an everyday cottontail, but he is so cute!  Look at him eating the dandelions!

And this was the moon this weekend.  I forgot about it!  So by the time I went out to take a picture it had already risen pretty high.  Darn it!

Stamp A Stack

On Saturday the 2nd we had a good time making Anniversary Cards and Blank Cards.  We left them Blank so any Greeting could be added as needed!  Here are a couple of the cards we made. I cased both of these
I didn't take pictures but we also used the little star punch and the little heart punch.  One of my ladies put the stars at the bottom of each color strip and it looked awesome. Another staggered the flowers and some did hearts.  They all looked very nice.  The only stamp used was one from the set Gorgeous Grunge. These are the In Colors, Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, and Hello Honey. Cardstock, Basic Black and Whisper White.
This card is made with Very Vanilla Card Stock and the hearts are brushed gold, punched out with the sweetheart Punch.  We used gold bakers twine and the stamp is from Memorable Moments.
