Buffet for Wedding

My daughter Megan and I have been meeting one day a month to work on wedding stuff.  Yesterday we finally got the buffet painted.   We used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, Duck Egg Blue for the main color.  I think it turned out really cute!  I always forget to take a picture of the original state before we start!  But I did get a few after we had taken off the hardware and the drawer front, so you can get an idea of what we started with. We will be using this piece for the dessert buffet which will hold multiple cakes on different stands.
When we got this, it had been used in a restaurant and all the doors and drawers were nailed shut and it was a sticky mess!  But we got it for a good price and saw the potential!

We finished right before it got dark!

This was the first piece we did back in October.  We picked this piece up at a garage sale, cheap!  But it needed a lot of work!  I forgot to take a picture of the before, but believe me it was falling apart.  But we did our magic and look how cute it is!

This will be the sign in table.  We are going to have old postcards on the table for them to write on and then they will drop them in an old mail box.  We donated this piece to my little grand-daughter, Everleigh.  We will have to get it back the weekend of the wedding, but we decided it would be a nice addition to her room.

It came with a mirrow, but it had a crack so we left if off.  We are contemplating what if anything we will use with it.

BURLAP PILLOWS & JOURNALS

I have got some new projects going!  They have nothing to do with stamping, BUT I wanted to share with you.  I started out just making a few for my daughters wedding, but I was really enjoying  creating these so I kept going, thinking maybe I could sell them.  I put some in a craft fair this weekend and I did sell some!!  If you or anyone you know is interested I have the ones pictured, plus, I am making more! Burlap is IN ladies and my pillows and journals use vintage doilies, buttons, and accessories.  Some of the ribbon is our Stampin' Up! Seam Binding and some of it comes from my Granny's sewing stash.  All items are one of a kind!  I can make them similar, but it is hard to find two doilies exactly the same.  And when you are using old vintage buttons, you can't always find many that are alike.  So have a look and let me know if you need one for your home or a gift!

Christmas Flash Cards!

I had my First "Flash Card Class last night.  I wanted to share the cards we made.  I let my ladies make 3 of each design.  But the concept here is...you actually get 8 of each.  So you can sit down and make 8 of the same card with minimal card stock.  So you could make up a stack of cards to have on hand in a little time, with minimal card stock. You could stamp different greetings on them or leave them blank and stamp the greeting as you need it.  It is a great concept and I cased every one of these from my friend Connie Stewart.  I did change a few things like embossing folders or ribbon, greeting, etc., but these were her original ideas.  I plan to do another class using this idea in the future.  I will let you know when and you should really come and learn how to do this!!

Framed Christmas Art

This is what I did with the 1 inch square swaps that my downline and I made.

Isn't it cute?  Framed Art!  I found this square frame at Wal-mart, covered the mat with Candlelight Christmas Designer Paper, took out the glass and attached each square in the center of the mat.  So easy!
